http://www.learnenglishfeelgood.com/ is a fun site that shows you clips of popular movies and then gives you a short multiple-choice quiz to check your understanding.  Check it out!

Advanced Listening

This I Believe - This I Believe, Inc., was founded in 2004 as a not-for-profit organization that engages youth and adults from all walks of life in writing, sharing, and discussing brief essays about the core values that guide their daily lives.

The Moth Moth shows are renowned for the great range of human experience they showcase. Each show starts with a theme, and the storytellers explore it, often in unexpected ways. Since each story is true and every voice authentic, the shows dance between documentary and theater, creating a unique, intimate, and often enlightening experience for the audience.

TED.com - A Global Ideas Network.  This is a great site to listen to intelligent people give lectures about academic subjects.  It's also a great site to practice your note-taking skills!

This American Life - This American Life is a weekly public radio show broadcast on more than 500 stations to about 1.7 million listeners. Watch Documentaries


As your English speaking abilities advance, it becomes increasingly important to work on your listening skills by exposing yourself to material in English for longer periods of time.  One easy way to do that is by watching documentaries, which are usually academic in nature and often employ more challenging, higher-level vocabulary.  Check out the list of documentary websites below to enjoy some good documentaries on a variety of topics!
